In the year 1935, Hideki proposed a prediction of massive force carrying particles called mesons that bind an atom together. His theory was first released in "Proceedings of the Physico-Mathematical Society of Japan". His idea of a meson did not gain worldwide recognition until two years after it had first been published. This was a very important conclusion because it turned out to be true and Hideki was the first to propose it. In 1949, Yukawa received the Nobel Peace Prize for "predicting the existence of mesons on the basis of theoretical work on nuclear force".
