Hideki Yukawa was an autodidact for the most part. He grew up in a very intense learning setting, seeing that all of his siblings grew up to become professors, too. He studied Chinese classics and taught himself to read Kanji characters. He later taught himself German so he could read books by various German physicists. His early life success allowed him to graduate high school and move on to get his Master's at Kyoto Imperial University, and then become a professor there. Hideki became very intelligent and independent at a very young age, and carried those traits with him throughout his life, to lead him to his great prediction.
